Terms of use

Last updated: July 2026

𝕏TVDb is a community project. These terms exist so everyone knows what the service is, what it isn't, and what keeps it pleasant for the people who build and use it. Part I covers the website; Part II covers the Developer Program and the API.

Part I — The website

1 · What the service is

𝕏TVDb is a catalog: metadata, artwork, cross-referenced identifiers, community ratings and personal tracking lists for movies and series. The website hosts no media files, offers no playback and no downloads. Where a title page shows availability, it links to the 𝕏TV bots on Telegram, which operate as their own service with their own rules.

2 · Your account

Accounts are created by confirming your identity through the 𝕏TV Account Manager bot on Telegram; your Telegram account is your credential. You're responsible for what happens through your account. Keep your Telegram account secure — and if something looks wrong, use "Log out all web sessions" immediately; it revokes every website session in one stroke.

3 · House rules

Use the community features the way you'd want them used on you. Specifically, don't:

  • manipulate ratings, reports or any community signal with multiple accounts or automation;
  • use display names, pictures, comments or reports to harass, impersonate or spam;
  • submit knowingly false information through the Contribute area;
  • probe, disrupt or overload the service, or attempt to circumvent access controls.

We may remove content and restrict or ban accounts that break these rules — proportionately, and with the goal of protecting the community rather than punishing it.

4 · Community content

What you write on 𝕏TVDb — ratings, comments, replies, reports, list names — stays yours. By posting it you grant 𝕏TVDb the non-exclusive right to display it as part of the service, always under the rules in the privacy policy. Moderators may remove content that breaks the house rules; deleting your account data removes your content.

5 · Content, metadata & artwork

Catalog data is assembled from public sources and community contributions. Titles, artwork, trademarks and the works themselves remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing on 𝕏TVDb grants you any rights in them. Parts of the metadata originate from TMDb (see the attribution guide). If you own content referenced here and want something corrected or removed, contact the team through the Telegram bots and we'll handle it.

6 · Premium

Premium is a way to support the platform. It is never required: the catalog, the community features and the library stay available to free accounts. Premium time is granted through the 𝕏TV ecosystem (coupons, gifts, rewards); the website sells nothing and processes no payments. Supporter tiers reflect lifetime support and carry cosmetic and convenience perks only.

Part II — The Developer Program & API

7 · The Developer Program

Access to the public API requires membership in the Developer Program. Applying means providing accurate information about yourself and your project — name, email, project description. Applications are reviewed individually and may be declined without a detailed justification; you may re-apply.

  • Keep your registration data current — we use it to reach you about your API usage.
  • API keys are personal to your developer account. Don't share, sell or transfer them.
  • You are responsible for every request made with your keys. If a key leaks, revoke it immediately.

8 · API license & attribution

Each plan grants a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the API and display its data in your project:

  • Developer (free) — non-commercial projects only. Attribution is the license condition: credit 𝕏TVDb — text and, in web apps, the logo — as described in the attribution guide, wherever the data is shown.
  • Plus and Pro — commercial use is allowed and attribution becomes optional. Paid plans are billed as described on the plans page; non-payment reverts the account to the free plan's conditions.

No plan grants ownership of the data, the 𝕏TVDb brand, or the right to redistribute the dataset wholesale, resell API access, or present the catalog as your own collection.

9 · API acceptable use

  • Stay within your plan's rate budgets; honor Retry-After on 429 responses.
  • Don't evade limits with multiple accounts, key rotation or IP rotation.
  • Cache responsibly; use /api/v1/changes instead of re-crawling the catalog.
  • Identify your project with a User-Agent header.
  • Don't use the data to build a service whose primary purpose is to replicate 𝕏TVDb.

10 · Suspension & termination

We may suspend keys or developer accounts that violate these terms — rate-limit evasion, missing attribution on the free plan, commercial use without a commercial plan, or abuse of the service. Where practical we'll warn first; deliberate or harmful abuse is suspended immediately. You can leave the program at any time by revoking your keys.

Part III — The fine print

11 · The service, as-is

𝕏TVDb — website and API — is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Catalog data is incomplete by design and improves continuously; accuracy, availability and uptime are not guaranteed, and the API carries no SLA on any plan. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

12 · Changes & contact

The platform evolves quickly and these terms evolve with it. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version; continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes — especially to the API license or plan conditions — are additionally announced through notifications.

Questions, takedown requests, appeals: the 𝕏TV team is reachable through the Telegram bots.
